Steve Walwyn

Dr. Feelgood's guitar player Steve Walwyn has cycled
from Land's End (Cornwall) to John O' Groats (Scotland)
(about 1000 miles or 1600 kms)
to raise money for the DOWN'S SYNDROME ASSOCIATION.
(The Down's Syndrome Association is a Registered Charity.)

Steve's youngest son Laurence, who is 4 years old (2003), has Down's Syndrome.

Excerpt of an email from August 13th, 2003:

Dear Gabi,

with my bar The Rose in Beverwijk I would like to sponsor Steve in his bikeride. All the tips of the month August will go into a special collection jar.
This week, August 13 till 17, we have ''Feestweek'' in Beverwijk. And for the Rose that means five days of live music and fun. We expect a couple of hundreds of people and hope they leave their small change in the Jar. Now I can't promise a lot, but what we'll get I want to send to you.

Excerpt of an email from August 29th, 2003:

Hello Gabi,

Well, August is over and I've stopped collecting for Steve so I could transfer the money to you today by internet banking. I can tell you we have collected 420 Euro this month in the Rose!!!! So it is on it's way to your account. In the Feestweek we took a photo of the crew, but that is on a different camera, so it will take some time before I can send it to you. Today I've taken some pictures at home so you can see me emptying the jar and counting the money. [See some of the photos below.] (...)

Well say hello to any of the Feelgoods when you talk to them and I hope Steve will make the trip and succeeds in finishing it and raise enough money.
