Eric has re-newed various things in his life: His wife, the management and (I would say, unfortunately) also his band. For more info and plans check out the official Eric Burdon web site.

Eric's former guitarist Dean Restum and drummer Bernie Pershey have teamed up with bassist Bobby Gianetti as ''The Mustangs''.

They released a cd called ''Branded'', I can really recommend it, as the fun the guys must have had when playing the material is obvious to feel/hear.
A true 'make you feel good and happy' album.
Sounds like if they want to tell ''this is the stuff we always wanted to record''. Brilliant! And what else to expect from such wonderful musicians, all perfectly served.

VARIOUS INFO

December 2001 - Eric's sequel to ''I used to be an Animal'', his biography ''Don't let me be misunderstood'' is available at Amazon.com now. Like the friend of both of us, Fito de la Parra (Canned Heat), just told me it is excellent. In addition to a straight and honest ''report'' about Eric's life and career and his friends (I mainly want to mention Jimi Hendrix here) it is another punch into the face of the bastards who rip off musicians (well deserved, you managers, bootleggers and such alikes!)

September 2001 - A special edition of Eric's book shall be for sale at the official Eric Burdon web site soon.

February 14, 2001 - Eric's new book "Don't let me be misunderstood" will hit stores this fall, published by Avalon Publishing of New York. (Sent in via email from Allarg@aol.com)

October 2000 - Rumour mill is going about something very special to come from the Burdon camp. Unfortunately no details on what it is. A new album? A Video? Me personally hopes it will be the (long awaited) release of the sequel of Eric's autobiography, this - of course - only is speculative. But maybe it's an award Eric will be honoured with, something like a star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, who knows...

September 2000 - New Animals drummer Aynsley has recorded the new album of UFO. No idea if he also tours with UFO now and Eric gots someone else on drums for the german tour or not...

May 24, 2000 - Following messages from Eric were left at the message board of his Official Web site:
I spent a few days last week at the Sound Services Studio, in New Orleans, recording two songs for a new CD. The Jimi Hendrix penned tunes, which I added some of my own lyrics to, are to go on a Jimi Hendrix Memorial Cd. Release date is this Summer. Some of the musicians on these two tunes were: Dean Restum / guitar, Russell Batiste / drums, George Porter / bass, John Grows / Hammond B-3, and Rob Coyn / guitar. Supervisor was Dean, engineer was Mark Hewitt, and Thomas Ruf (Ruf Records) is the producer. Some of the other artists appearing on the CD are Buddy Miles, Taj Mahal, and Walter Trout.

Jan. 12, 2000 - Wednesday, January 19 saw the premier of the German movie, "Snowfall On New Years Eve". Eric had a part in the movie.
